Icelandic Sheep Wool

We sell our own Lopi Yarn produced by an Artisan Mill from our Icelandic Sheep Wool. Lopi yarn is typically only available in Iceland, making our yarn a rare treat for knitters & crocheters.

Lopi yarn, spun from the fleece of Icelandic sheep, is a distinctive fiber known for its warmth, durability, and rustic charm. The unique dual-coated fleece of these sheep, with a long, coarse outer layer (tog) and a soft, insulating inner layer (þel), is processed together to create a yarn that is both weather-resistant and cozy. Lopi yarn is especially popular for knitting traditional Icelandic sweaters, known as Lopapeysa, as well as hats, scarves, and other cold-weather accessories. It's appreciated for its ability to bloom and fill in gaps in the knitted fabric after washing, creating a warm and sturdy garment.

Mohair Wool

We also sell Mohair Yarn made form our small flock of Angora Goats.

Mohair yarn is a luxurious fiber derived from the fleece of Angora goats, known for its distinctive sheen, softness, and fuzzy texture. It's lightweight and warm, making it suitable for various garments and accessories. Mohair blends well with other fibers like silk or wool, adding its characteristic halo and drape to the final fabric. This versatile yarn can be used alone for ethereal, open-work projects or held double with another yarn to enhance texture, color, and warmth. Though it may require gentle handling and handwashing, mohair offers a beautiful and luxurious experience for knitters and crocheters.
